What's This!

Does anyone know what this thing is? Deann and I ate one for breakfast. We must have had a momentary lapse in judgement:) Scroll down to see what is inside.

Cook Family: We are enjoying your travel tales! Patrick, we hope you feel better, soon. MaCayla - watch what you choose to eat! Caroline is glad you did not eat the "sea urchin." Sam wants to know if you were cold when you flew over the north pole. We are praying for you! Love, Trish, Rob, Emily, Caroline, and Sam.

The "sea urchin" was actually some type of fruit. I hope to feel better soon. It was -70F when we flew over the north pole (Artic Ocean near the Bering Strait), but the airplane cabin was +70F. Thanks for the prayers and the book you gave me to read is inspiring. Love, Patrick, Deann and MaCayla

I tried to send you a message by using MaCayla's yahoo address but I'll do it here again. That fruit is not a sea urchin but a RAMBUTAN. They really don't have much taste, do they? Stacy is so jealous -- she wants one. She is sitting here beside me wishing she had one. We are having so much fun reading the blog and your description of everything. We can relate to so many things you are describing so this is fun. Bill read all of this earlier and told us we had to be sure to get on and see what you are doing today. Love, Marianne and Stacy

That fruit is a Lychee.... they are lovely!

I think they are the equivalent of Chinese Strawberries.
